When children are diagnosed with a life-threatening condition their whole family's world is rocked. They are swept up in a whirlwind of hospitals and appointments. Parents become nurses, pharmacists, medical technicians, counselors and therapists...sometimes they would just like to be Mum and Dad.

That is why it's the purpose of Hope House Children's Hospices to give every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care AND to make sure every child and their family enjoys the best quality of life, because Quality Moments Matter.

In order to be here for every child and family the hospice needs to raise over £9Million every year, and I am doing my little bit of fundraising to help.

Last year I took part in a wing walk, this year I am taking part in Strictly Shropshire this November. This means that I will be dancing the Salsa in front of a live audience of several hundred people. This is more terrifying that wing walking! To put it in context. I had previously been in a plane (although not on one), but my previous dancing experience is limited to flailing arms and legs at seedy nightclubs in the 80's...I am not sure that even counts as dancing!

If by pushing myself outside of my comfort zone helps raise some money so that we can create quality moments for every child and their family then my fear and embarrassment is worth it.
