Story
This is Andrew. He’s 12 years old, full of energy, determination, and has the biggest cheekiest smile you will ever see.
Andrew lives with Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay and ADHD.
He struggles with speech but communicates beautifully using a mixture of sounds, signs and gestures. None of this has ever stopped him.
When Andrew first started swimming, the goal was simply to help him feel safe and comfortable in the water and to help with his mobility.
Step by step, stroke by stroke, kick by kick he has grown stronger, braver and more independent (greatly supported by the teachers and helpers he has at Cridders Swim School)
Today, Andrew can swim around 15 metres — a huge achievement built on years of effort, patience, and courage. He never gives up. He never stops trying.
And now, Andrew is taking on his biggest challenge yet.
In May 2026, at the Cridders Swim School 25-hour Marathon Swim, Andrew aims to swim between 25 and 50 metres, all in support of Level Water, a charity that gives disabled children access to swimming lessons.
“We are so proud of Andrew. Swimming has given him strength, confidence, and pure joy. Watching him achieve things people said he couldn’t has been incredible.”
Andrew inspires everyone who meets him.
His determination reminds us all what’s possible when you’re supported, loved, and given the chance to shine.
