We all love a Brass Band however as with everything funding is a continuous struggle. Middleton Brass Band are fundraising and I am joining them, please read below. My daughter has played for the senior band for over 8 years and this was only possible due to the free tuition she received from the age of 12 whilst in the Youth Band.

On the 5th August 2023, a small group of individuals within the band are taking on the challenge in order to raise funds for Middleton band, a small charity who provide musical education and opportunities for the local communities. They rely solely on volunteers and the support of the local town and have done since it was formed way back in 1876 so could use all the support they can get. We are raising funds to contribute towards the purchase of new instruments and the maintenance of existing instruments so the band can continue to provide musical entertainment to the UK for another 147 years. To raise as much as we can, we are taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks which covers 25 miles of distance and 5000ft of ascents and we are aiming to do this well within the 12hour recommended challenge time.
