Story

In 2026, I’ll be taking on the iconic London Marathon as part of the CHSF Team, running to support the incredible work of Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. Every mile I run is for the brave children living with congenital heart defects and the families who stand beside them. I’m proud to be raising vital funds that help provide lifesaving equipment, specialist care, and essential support when it’s needed most. This journey is about more than just the finish line - it’s about empowering heart patients and their families.

Our son Arthur was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect a few days after he was born and had open heart surgery at Leeds hospital to repair a VSD and an ASD in October 2022 when he was just 4 months old. He has since made a good recovery and is a happy and healthy little boy enjoying nursery and excited to start school in September.

We will always be grateful to the amazing surgeons, doctors and nurses who took such incredible care of Arthur and for the support of the CHSF in the build up to, during, and after his operation. At a time of great stress and uncertainty they provide valuable information and support to children and their families, including accommodation for parents at the hospital.

I’ll be running the London and Leeds Marathons with the CHSF team this spring to raise funds so this brilliant charity can continue to help children like Arthur. Any donations are greatly appreciated - thank you for reading.
