GLO works with visionary local leaders to transform Burundi through education, sport, business, healthcare and more, bringing hope to thousands of the most vulnerable. They work with over 25 local partners to equip and transform the local population to be economically independent, vibrant and sustainable.

Burundi has suffered massively from ethnic conflict, though far less publicised than Rwanda. 70% of the population live in poverty, regarded as the poorest country in the world, only 7% have electricity in their home, as few as 32% of children complete lower secondary education, only 1 doctor per 10,000 people; they are a people in significant need.

Through your support and help, we will raise finance that will benefit so many lives in Burundi. We can make a difference.

As many will know, 3 days before leaving for Burundi in 2024, on my last training ride I hit a New Forest pony. The horse was fine, but I broke my scapula and could not ride. I still went to Burundi, and was quite blown away by the experience. I am doing the cycle this year - so long as I don't hit any ponies!
