Story
In memory of my brother-in-law Den, who died this year, I am attempting to walk the 177 miles of Offa's Dyke in a week.
Den loved to walk and, with my older sister, took me on my first proper walk. He also loved Wales, spending his retirement in the Brecon Beacons.
As a postie, I am used to walking but this will be a challenge!
MSA is a cruel disease. Den first showed symptoms in 2020 and was diagnosed with MSA in 2021. It took away his ability to walk and get outside in the nature that he loved so much.
So I will be raising money for the MSA Trust.
The Multiple System Atrophy Trust is the UK and Republic of Ireland's only charity dedicated to providing specialist support to all those affected by MSA; a life-limiting neurodegenerative condition. We rely entirely on voluntary donations to provide our free MSA Health Care Professional service, Social Welfare Specialist Service, a telephone helpline and regional in-person and digital support groups. We also fund research into both a cause and cure.
