Story
London 🏃♂️ is calling… but this time it feels different.
I feel incredibly lucky to have been given a last-minute place at the London Marathon representing Action Medical Research.
I’ve run marathons before. I know what 26.2 miles feels like. But this one isn’t just about chasing a time or ticking off another finish line.
This one is about children.
I’m the proud dad of two brilliant (and thankfully very healthy) boys, Archie and Hugo, now 12 and 15. Watching them grow into the young men they’re becoming is the greatest privilege of my life.
But not every family gets that chance.
Close friends of ours have experienced the unimaginable; losing a baby to stillbirth, losing a child to cancer. It makes you realise how fragile and precious childhood really is.
For over 70 years, Action Medical Research has helped pioneer breakthroughs that have changed millions of lives contributing to the fight against polio, advancing ultrasound in pregnancy, improving treatments for meningitis and helping prevent stillbirths.
But there is still so much more to do.
Every mile I run will be for the children who need better treatments, earlier diagnoses and more hope and for the families who deserve more time.
If you’re able to donate, you’re not just sponsoring a run. You’re helping fund research that saves and changes young lives.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
