Cycling from St David's to Lowestoft · 27 April 2023

St. Luke’s Hospice provides compassionate care for people with life limiting, palliative and end of life care needs. The charity delivers individualised care to ensure dignity and to empower people to make the choices they want, from the moment they are diagnosed.

Story

A team of cyclists from the London Market are taking on a challenging cycle ride from the most Westerly town in Wales (St. David's) to the most Easterly town in England (Lowestoft). Riding from the Irish Sea to the North Sea will take 5 days covering 381 miles with 6561m of climbing.

The team of cyclists are:

Andy Kane (QBE)

Chris Cullen (QBE)

Andi Turner (NBJ)

James Norris (GRS)

Rob Skingley (Howden)

Mark Peacock (AJ Gallagher)

Stephen Goulding (Consultant)

We will ride over the Brecon Beacons and The Cotswold Hills on our rarely cycled route.

We are supporting St Luke's Hospice in Basildon who provide compassionate care to people whose illnesses are no longer curable. Hospices like St Luke's provide amazing support to families in the most difficult of circumstances and need our support in these difficult times.

St Luke's looked after my father in law Peter Edgecombe in his final weeks during a covid lockdown and I know we could not thank them enough for the support they gave our family.

Pete was a sport-loving Eastender and an ex-docker who battled myeloma during the covid pandemic.
