Story
Hello!
On Sunday 11th October, I will be running the Royal Parks Half marathon to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer charity.
It will be a year to the day since my brother Joe was admitted to hospital because he was unable to walk. A few days later he was diagnosed with advanced Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer. Joe had just graduated, was healthy, active and happy with exciting plans ahead.
Watching someone you love go through something like this is truly heartbreaking. The treatment has been incredibly tough, but Joe’s attitude and response has been an inspiration. From day one, he has shown incredible strength, courage, and a can-do attitude. We are all so proud of him, his resilience through chemo and radiotherapy and the way he is pushing himself to build up his strength and get back on his feet. He has even found a way to continue playing golf despite his spinal injury.
We wouldn’t be able to talk about Joe’s inspirational story if it wasn’t for the life-saving treatments provided by the Royal Marsden, who have looked after Joe brilliantly over the last 12 months. A truly amazing team.
Through your donations, you would be helping to fund the Marsden’s groundbreaking research, state-of-the art equipment, and the best patient environments - all of which Joe, my mum and cancer patients around the world have benefited from.
Anything you can spare would be hugely appreciated. It will genuinely change lives. Please donate if you can.
Thank you ❤️
