Everest Summit Expedition
This March 29th I’m departing on an 8-week expedition in the Himalayas, attempting to summit Mt Everest mid May, following in the footsteps of my grandmother, climbing with her long term friend and Nepalese mountaineering legend Ang, and 9 child abuse survivors and allys including my climbing partner Giles, with whom we share a mission to raise awareness and put an end to child abuse.
Suicide rates in the UK and US, are at the highest they have ever been, with it 4 times more likely in males, and 5 times more likely for those that have suffered from child abuse. Our group aims to tackle a root cause by raising awareness and funds, and to transform their hardship into something good.
Sir Edmund Hillary said “It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” Summit or not, this once in a lifetime journey is so much more than a bucket list check; it's a joint effort to bring attention to this cause, and a chance to inspire others to let go of limiting beliefs and to find positivity from every challenge.
Every step is an opportunity to make a difference, and your support is everything. If you're inspired to contribute, you can make a donation here which will go 100% to the NSPCC, the UK's leading child protection charity.
Thank you for your support. I'll be posting updates on my social channels throughout to keep you up to date.
