Story

I'm running 96 miles in under 24 hours for mental health support. Here's why.

On 31 May 2025, I’ll be taking on the West Highland Way Challenge Race — a 96-mile ultramarathon from Fort William to Milngavie. I am aiming to do this in less than 24 hours.

It’s one of the toughest endurance events in the UK, and I’m doing it to raise vital funds for Help-Jim's Story, a mental health charity that supports people when they need it most.

Why this challenge? Because it reflects life. It’s long, demanding, and full of highs and lows. Training for this event has tested me physically, but it’s also been a huge support for my mental health. The training needed gives me space to think, to cope, and to reconnect with what really matters.

Mental health affects us all—our families, our friends, our colleagues. By supporting this challenge, you’ll be helping the charity continue their incredible work looking out for those who need a hand through tough times.

I would like to beat the amount raised in my last attempt (2022), that had to be abandoned at 71 miles. Please consider donating. Every pound you give helps make that help possible.

Thank you.
