Story

Thank you so much for visiting my Just Giving Page. I’m running the Hackney Half Marathon on 17 May 2026 to support the MND Association and I am so grateful for your interest and support.

Since first posting my fundraising page I have learned from you, who are so brilliantly supporting me, just how widespread motor neurone disease (MND) is, amongst your family members, friends, work colleagues and neighbours. These are tremendously moving stories, of great sadness needless to say, but also of courage, bravery and humour from both those diagnosed with MND and their families. I’ve also learned that Hugh Lumby, a work colleague through the 1990s, was diagnosed with MND a few years ago, but with the help of SpeakUnique software has continued his second career as an employment judge. Hugh has said he is happy for me to reference him in my fundraiser page and I do so truly inspired and humbled by his achievements.

MND is a devastating condition that affects thousands of people across the UK. The need for continued research, care, and support has never been greater. Every day, families face the challenges of this relentless disease, and organisarions like the MND Association provide vital help that transforms lives.

By sponsoring me in the Hackney Half Marathon 2026, you will be making a real difference. Your donation will go directly to the MND Association through JustGiving — a simple, fast, and secure way to give. Your details are safe with them; they never sell information or send unwanted emails.

Every penny counts:

- £12 can provide an information pack for someone newly diagnosed with MND

- £35 can fund one hour of support from an MND Connect helpline adviser

- £40 can buy adapted cutlery so a person can feed themselves independently

- £75 can inspire a rising research star to dedicate their career to fighting MND

- £100 can provide a voice amplifier so someone affected can read to their children

Please sponsor me today — your generosity fuels progress and offers comfort to those living with MND.
