Story
Myself, Gregg Hayes and many units of the Independent Company across the UK will be doing sponsored Walks for Finley’s Touch Charity ahead of We Have Ways Fest 2024.
It's 84 miles from We Have Ways HQ in Clapham London to Blackpit Brewery nr Silverstone!
On the 6th June, 80th anniversary of Operation Overlord (D Day)
The South Wales Borders IC walk will start by paying our respects at the grave of Thomas Roberts Russel DFC AFC in St Twynnells graveyard, the walk will proceed west towards Castlemartin, past the site of RAF St Twynnells, an old Chain Home Low station and abandoned rotor radar station, over looking the Castlemartin Range and then on towards Freshwater West, site of a landing craft disaster in 1943 where two LCGs sank in rough seas with the loss of 85 personnel. The walk then proceeds around the Angle peninsular, passing the old RAF Angle airfield where a Sunderland once made a belly landing, and on to. Finishing the walk on the coast at Angle village. A total of around 12.5 miles.
Similar Marches for Finley are taking place in London, Kent, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Devon and Wilshire, which combined will total the 84 miles! (Which I am sure will be exceed)
Join us and let’s raise even more funds for this amazing Charity’
Be great if more of the Welsh IC could join us!!!
