Story
Please support us as we take part in the Annual 10in10 Challenge this June, raising money for life changing MS research (and possibly questioning our life choices).
2026 is a big year for us. We both turn 50, we’re celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and clearly, we’ve decided this calls for a full blown outbreak of mid life madness rather than a nice weekend away.
So instead of cake and a lie in, we’re taking on the 10in10 Challenge — climbing 10 Wainwright peaks in the Lake District within 10 hours, covering 16.1 miles (26km) and a leg burning 6,557 feet of ascent. It’s long, steep, relentless, and entirely optional — which raises a fair question about our judgement. But it’s also iconic, brutally challenging, and guaranteed to push us well beyond our comfort zones (and possibly our knees).

The 10in10 Challenge exists to raise funds for vital Multiple Sclerosis research, and in 2026 the fundraising will support world class work into myelin repair at the MS Society Cambridge Centre for Myelin Repair. This pioneering research is helping scientists understand how damaged myelin can be repaired, offering real hope for treatments that could slow, stop, or even reverse the progression of disability caused by MS — which is very much worth sore legs, aching backs and a few regrettable training sessions.
So yes, this challenge is partly about celebrating 50 years of age, and 20 years of marriage, but mostly it’s about doing something meaningful with those milestones and supporting research that genuinely changes lives.
If you’d like to encourage (or gently mock) our mid life madness, any donation — big or small — would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for helping us turn birthdays, anniversaries, and questionable decisions into something positive for an incredibly important cause.
