Deafblind UK swimmers take the plunge in Swim Serpentine, the UK's biggest one-day open-water swimming festival, to support people living with deafblindness across the UK.

Story

As many will know my dad had Ménière's Disease and as a result was told that this would/could lead to him becoming deaf. Although his passing was not specifically down to the disease, an episode did contribute towards it.

I am taking on this challenge and choosing to raise awareness for Deafblind UK as I am acutely aware of how lucky I am to live a life without the hearing restrictions that my dad had or of course sight loss.

Here is a bit about the charity...

We are Deafblind UK, the only charity that specialises in supporting people who are deafblind in the UK. For over 90 years, we have supported anyone who is affected by deafblindness. We listen, advise, care, support, coach, mentor and connect people. We give people hope, we build confidence and we enable independence. Most importantly, we change lives. Too many people are touched by deafblindness, too many minds are struggling and too many people are isolated. You help us support anyone who is deafblind.
