Andy’s Camino Challenge for The Royal Anglian Regiment Charity

Camino Challenge. · 26 April 2025
I am raising vital funds for the Royal Anglian Regimental Charity.
On 26 April I will be travelling to the town of St Jean Pied de Port in South West France, to the start the Camino de Santiago, a 775km, (almost 500 mile) pilgrims trail that starts from St Jean Pied de Port, goes over the Pyrenees and across northern Spain to its finish point at Santiago de Compostela. The walk typically takes or around 35 days, assuming an average daily walking distance of 25km.
Although the large military charities do an excellent job, many such as Combat Stress which I am also raising funds for (see events link) on occasion they suffer from a self-imposed bureaucracy that can limit their freedom to provide support to those in need.
The Royal Anglian Regiment Charity is set up to provide more direct support to those members of the Regimental Family who are in hardship, need or distress. The charity has direct communication with those it seeks to support, they know them: as they are members of the Regimental Family. This means decisions to deliver financial support can be done so at pace, so the that the Regimental charity’s funds are used in the ways you would wish.
Thank you so much for your support.
