Andrew Reed Foundation is raising money for Reed's School

The Club Rome lunch launches December 05 2025 at Balls Brothers, Austin Friars

For over 200 years the Reed’s Foundation has helped change the lives of over 12,000 vulnerable and disadvantaged children, not just by offering an excellent education to open up a bright new future, but - as importantly - by improving their pastoral, social and emotional well-being.

Story

Help a child follow their dreams and realise their full potential.

Helping children who, due to circumstances beyond their control, find it harder than others to follow their dreams has always been a genuine passion of former master, Richard ('Rome') Garrett. So, upon his retirement from Reed's and in keeping with Andrew Reed's original vision for the charitable Foundation of the School, the Richard Garrett Fund was established. As part of this initiative, the first 'Club Rome Lunch' and fundraising campaign was launched in 2019.

If you'd like to join Richard at his annual 2025 Christmas Lunch, and join the company of other like-minded Old Reedonians, you can sign up by clicking here: this will take you to Richard's event booking page.

The Richard Garrett Fund

This annual Club Rome event and Richard's unwavering dedication to the cause has raised £335,970.69 since 2019. As well as helping to support the unique educational and pastoral needs of Foundation pupils at Reed's School, the Fund also enables them to access and take part in the many co-curricular opportunities (be that sporting, artistic, musical or cultural) that can enhance lives and realise dreams.

If you can't make the Rome’s Lunch, but would still like to play a part in Richard's legacy harnessing the powerful combination of philanthropy and education, you can do so in two ways:

• donate to his Scholarship Fund linked to the Andrew Reed Foundation, by donating on this JustGiving page ;

• consider leaving a legacy bequest to the Andrew Reed Foundation in recognition of Richard’s Fund. For more information, please click here and/or contact Sharmaine Matthews at the Reed’s Foundation (E: smatthews@reeds.surrey.sch.uk T: 01932 589490)
