Story
On 7th September 2025, I’ll be running the Great North Run to raise funds for Pectus Matters, a charity dedicated to supporting those with Pectus excavatum.
Pectus excavatum, is a rib cage abnormality that causes the chest to appear sunken or caved-in. This can cause a range of issues, both physically and emotionally including impacting the function of heart and lungs if severe.
Despite the potential severity, care in the UK is inaccessible to many with the NHS often regarding it as cosmetic (irrespective of the emotional impact this may have).
My eldest son Lewie sadly suffers with this condition and I’ll fight to ensure he receives the care he deserves.
Pectus Matters is committed to advocating for patients, fostering a supportive community, and making sure people with pectus conditions receive the care and support they need.
Please, if you can, help our fight by sponsoring my attempt to complete the Great North Run. Its over a decade since I last ran this wonderful half marathon so I have a challenge on my hands to say the least.
