Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. I am embarking on a trek in Kyrgyzstan in July to raise funds for THE LEAGUE OF FRIENDS OF ST MARKS HOSPITAL, MAIDENHEAD. This charity plays a crucial role in supporting our local hospital, providing essential services & resources that directly impact the lives of patients & their families.
This will be a tough challenge; trekking in remote locations, staying in local yurts, & spending nights under canvas with very limited "facilities"!
We will kick off around the Ala-Archa National Park before heading via the Kalmak-Ashuu pass to trek around Lake Song Kul, where we will stay in local Yurts, at an altitude of around 3000m. Eventually we will descend down to Lake Issyk-Kul & to Karakol, at 1,750m where trek In the ‘Switzerland’ of Asia, camping on the shore of Lake Ala Kul.
I have set a target of £1,500 as this would make a significant difference in our community's health services. Together, we can provide the necessary support that our hospital needs to continue its vital work.
