Story
The challenge I have set myself is being conducted in memory of mum, dad, brother and my dear wife Lorraine Lesley who have all been lost to one form or another of cancer. Lingen Davies Cancer trust was pivotal in providing care for my wife during her illness and this will help to raise funds for future generations to give much needed treatment and hope in finding a cure.
I, like many others reading this will have been affected by a form of Cancer and if not will be in some way in the future. My family again like so many others, had no history of this cruel disease and then one day it all changed. First In 2016 my mum Hazel was diagnosed with skin and stomach cancer. In 2018 my father Alan, was taken ill suddenly and passed away a week later from Bowel cancer. In 2019, my brother Paulagain taken ill suddenly sadly passed away a few days later from Liver cancer. The same year in April, my wife got very unwell and later it was found to be Breast Cancer that had spread to her bones and liver. Both mum and my beloved wife are no longer with us in body, both fought to the bitter end. Hazel passed away on 10 Oct 22 and my Lorraine very soon after on 5 Nov 22.
Nearly a year as passed and another family member Liam, is now fighting the same battle. Liam recently was diagnosed with a Brain tumour after suffering unexplained severe headaches. He has undergone radiotherapy treatment and is now receiving a chemotherapy programme which takes him to April 2024.
You can beat this Liam!
