Story
Hi and a BIG THANK YOU for visiting my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 13 September 2026, I’ll be taking on the Great North Run to raise money for the amazing charity WellChild.
WellChild helps children and young people with complex medical needs to thrive at home with their families, rather than in hospital wherever possible.
Through a nationwide network of specialist WellChild Nurses, practical family training, peer support and home and garden transformation projects, WellChild provides vital help to families across the UK.
Having previously run the Great North Run and the London Marathon for WellChild, I’m delighted to be running again with my great friend John O’Sullivan, raising much-needed funds for this local Cheltenham-based charity making such a difference nationally.
Having completed a garden project in Derby, I've seen first hand just how important this work is to each family WellChild supports. Truly humbling and inspiring.
Every donation you make, however big or small, can make a real difference:
• £150 will provide a day of a WellChild Family Coordinator’s time supporting families through the WellChild Family Tree.
• £50 will help a Parent Ambassador host a local support group for parent carers.
• £20 will connect a family to WellChild’s vital information and support network.
And if you’re a UK taxpayer, adding Gift Aid means WellChild can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you.
Thank you so much in advance for your kind support and generosity of spirit. It really will help spur us on!
Wish us luck, 13.1 miles to go!
PS. I'll also be continuing my fundraising by running the Cheltenham Half Marathon the following Sunday. Another 13.1 miles to go!
Many thanks
Andrew
