Andrew's fundraiser for Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) Neurosciences

Andrew Welch is raising money for Leeds Hospitals Charity
We are the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals. We support NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year. Donations fund life-saving equipment, treatments, research and home comforts. Whatever will make the biggest impact to the people who need it most.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My reason for choosing to raise funds for the Neurosciences Department of the LGI is to show my gratitude for the brilliant care I received in December 2021.  I required life-saving surgery for a fractured vertebra in my neck.  I was an inpatient for 3 weeks following surgery and then began a 4-month rehabilitation programme before finally returning to work as a Postman for the Royal Mail in May 2022.

I am combining my love of drawing and walking for my fundraising initiative. When I notice an inspirational property whilst walking in my local area; I approach the owners and ask permission to make a pen and ink drawing of their home for them.  I only request that, upon completion, they make a donation to my chosen charity.  I make a suggestion of £100 as a minimum, for which I present to them an original piece of art, mounted and cellophane wrapped.

I have included some samples of my work in the gallery, which you can peruse at your leisure.  Please click on the link at the right hand side of my photograph.
