Yorkshire Spurs Charity Match · 28 June 2026

The goal is to install benches in as many public parks throughout the UK, discreetly inscribed with a QR code, that opens up an array of supporting organisations for Mental Health issues and Suicide Awareness/Support. Someone is always listening...

Story

Hi all,

Firstly, thanks for taking a few moments to drop in on this to see what it is all about!

Yet again, with very little training or practice in the bank, I am donning my boots to play in a Yorkshire Spurs charity match against a Spurs squad made up of ex-players (most of which could probably do a job for us this season I might add!).

On this occasion it will take place at 3pm on Sunday 28th June 2026 at West Riding County FA, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, LS26 8NX.

If you are interested in attending, tickets are £8 for adults and £2.50 for juniors and can be purchased at www.yorkshirespurs.co.uk/events

Obviously it is will be a fun day of sorts but it is also a charity event for something that is much more serious where many of us will have been affected directly or indirectly in some way.

The charity this year is 'Legend on the Bench' an initiative dedicated to creating Legend Benches across the country. These benches serve as a symbol of hope and community, aiming to reduce mental health struggles and suicide rates nationwide.

More details can be found at: https://www.legend-on-the-bench.co.uk/

For now, I would just like to kindly ask that you consider a donation if you feel you are able to do so.

Thank you so much, Andy.x
