Welsh 3 Peaks

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

One of my best friends mum, in 2020 Penny Baldwin was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia.

As a result it has been a real uphill struggle the last 3 years.Unfortunately this is a degenerative disease that has caused increasingly difficult physical and mental challenges that mean Penny now requires round the clock care.

Thanks to the tireless work, and love from Nicks dad Malcom, Penny is now recieving the care she needs, she has a dedicated team of carers supporting her each day.

Lewy Body is the second most common age-related neurodegenerative dementia after Alzheimer's, and yet we still know relatively little about it. Our aim is to raise money to generate awareness for the condition. Enabling others like my Penny to get the care and support they need.As a result myself and a group of my school friends will be climbing the Welsh 3 peaks in April. If you are able to support in any way possible it would go a long way.
