A Memory and a Mission: Honoring My Mother and Supporting Lupus UK 💜

2nd June 2021 is a date that will forever hold a significant place in my heart. It’s the day my beloved mother passed away after a courageous battle with Lupus. For those who might not know, Lupus is a relentless disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues and organs. This inflammation can affect various parts of the body, including joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs.

Lupus UK is a charity that means the world to me. They support individuals suffering from systemic lupus and discoid lupus and assist those on their journey to a diagnosis. Every year, I try to give back and raise funds for the amazing work they did for my mother and continue to do for countless others across the UK.

Many of you know about the annual charity football match and BBQ I host to support this cause. This year, we’re adding something special. On 19th July, with the incredible support of my good friends David Woodburn, Alan Moore, and Steven Hamill, we will be tackling a daunting challenge: 72 holes of golf in one day at Ballymena Golf Club. On the 28th September I’ll be doing a white collar boxing event a little out of my comfort zone but if it helps raise awareness and money for lupus uk I’m more than happy to do so
