Debrief - Brighton Marathon - Sunday April 6th..

It was great to participate in the Marathon on Sunday, I felt very honoured to be running for the ThinBlueLineUK.

It was tough out there though, and quite hot, I would have loved sub-4, but the 2nd half required a tactical decision to get round, never stopped running (just a bit slower) so it was 4:07:57.

We are in the top 10% of JustGiving fundraisers for the event, that’s all down to you, a big thank you.

My ~4hrs challenge was nothing when compared to the daily challenges the Thin Blue Line face into, respect to those that are serving and have served and to the ThinBlueLineUK charity for their great work.

On Sunday, April 6th, 2025, I will be participating in the Brighton Marathon. The training has been both challenging and rewarding, and I am excited to take on this significant challenge.

What keeps me motivated during those long runs is the incredible cause I am supporting – ThinBlueLineUK.

This charity holds a special place in my heart as it focuses on supporting police officers who face mental health challenges. With family members serving as dedicated police officers (Response Team), I witness firsthand their unwavering commitment to their duty and the oath they uphold. These young officers embody qualities of dependability, care, and honour. Their resilience is tested daily, and it is crucial that they have access to support when needed.

ThinBlueLineUK is a charity run by police officers for police officers, driven by a passion to assist those who serve on the Thin Blue Line within the United Kingdom. Their mission is clear: to provide vital support for mental health through initiatives like the bespoke Thrive App. They actively participate in conferences and well-being days to raise awareness about mental health issues within the policing community. It’s essential that our officers feel empowered to speak out about their struggles and know that help is readily available.

I invite you to join me in making a difference. My target is to raise £1,000 for this worthy cause. Your donation will not only inspire me on marathon day, but also contribute significantly towards helping those who protect us every day.
