Story
I shall once again be dribbling a hockey ball the length of the London Marathon at the ripe old age of 62!
We are all somehow touched and affected by dementia, whether close family or friends. My friend and 1988 Olympic hockey Gold medal winner, Imran Sherwani has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. I want to support him and so many others who suffer the effects both directly and indirectly. It seems as if everybody is impacted these days.
I've been an 'extreme hockey dribbler' since 2012, raising money for charity at events including The Marathon, up and down The UK 3 peaks, dribbling from Cardiff to London in 2017 and in 2019, dribbling up to 5200metres on Annapurna in the Himalayas.
After saying that the London Marathon 2022 would be my final effort, I'm once again dribbling the marathon in 2024, supporting charity. This is defo my final dribble before I hang up my stick!
Please support me if you can. Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.
We are the UK's leading dementia research charity. We exist for a cure.
Your donation helps our scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
