Retinal Dystrophies are a group of, usually, inherited diseases where there is deteriorating vision in one or both eyes and often lead to permanent severe visual loss.

Approximately 25000 live with inherited retinal conditions in the uk and more than 300 genes have been linked to inherited sight loss conditions, with many more are yet to be identified.

Retina UK is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting people living with inherited sight loss and funding pioneering medical research into potential treatments.

Even though I am terrified of heights, I have decided to put on my brave pants to support this incredibly worthwhile cause because Retina uk is a much less well known charity. As my sister (Nicola Nisbet) has been an optometrist for many years and my late grandmother was registered partially sighted I promise to give it my all!! Please support me 😊
