Story
They gave me 6 months to live. I’m giving them 26.2 miles.
A few years ago, I sat in a consultant’s office and heard the words no one is ever prepared for. I was told I had six months to live.
I wasn't just looking at a finish line; I was looking at an expiration date. For someone living with Cystic Fibrosis, that "six-month" mark felt like a heavy, final curtain call. I began to prepare for the end, wondering how much of my life I’d actually leave behind.
The Turning Point: Science & Survival
But then, the script changed. Science pulled a miracle out of the hat in the form of Kaftrio.
These life-changing pills didn't just give me a "software update"; they gave me back my future. I went from counting my remaining days to counting my miles. I went from struggling to walk across a room to training for the greatest physical challenge of my life: The London Marathon.
Why I’m Running
I am running 26.2 miles through the streets of London to prove that a diagnosis is not a destiny. I’m running because I finally can.
I’m incredibly proud to be supported by the Anderton Centre. As an organization that lives and breathes outdoor adventure and building resilience in Lancashire, they didn't just see a "patient"—they saw an athlete. They stepped up to sponsor my kit and back my journey, and their belief in me has been a huge part of what keeps me moving on the cold 5 a.m. training runs.
The Journey Together
I’m not doing this alone. My closest mate, Kieran, is taking on this challenge with me. We’ve spent months training hundreds of miles apart, keeping each other going through every ache and every doubt. On race day, we’re crossing that finish line together. He’s seen me at my lowest, and he’ll be there when I’m at my highest.
Your Support Matters
Every donation to this page is a "thank you" to the research that created Kaftrio and a lifeline for those still fighting. I was told my time was up, but thanks to medical science and a stubborn refusal to give in, I’m still here.
I’m officially out of warranty, but I’ve never felt more alive. Please donate what you can to help me cross this finish line. Every penny helps turn "impossible" into "done."
