Story
Thankyou so much for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.
Unfortunately our beloved old man has cancer. He’s had a tough year so far, but his incredible strength and resilience has shone through and being the absolute trooper that he is, he’s giving it the good fight. With a number of hospital visits this year, his treatments have pretty much been exhausted, so our main focus now is making him as pain free and comfortable as possible so that we can all enjoy our precious time together for as long as we can. We’re really enjoying getting out and about on our little jaunts to get sausage sandwiches, brownies and coffees when we can. Can’t keep him away!
We plan to fundraise for the Severn Hospice in Telford who have supported dad in such a beautiful and loving way. We really do appreciate the level of kindness and support he’s had throughout, along with the exceptional facility services they provide. Mostly reliant on donations to keep running, it’s important that this essential and life changing service continues to run, so every little helps when it comes to supporting families through some of the toughest of times.
We plan on doing the 3 peak challenge which includes the ascent of Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowden. We’ll do it over 3 days as opposed to in one go. Mainly to avoid navigating off the side of a cliff during the essential night orientation needed to complete it in time. We don’t want to end up in a bed next to dad for this one…..but it will be a good challenge for us to get stuck into.
Once again thanks for your kindness and visiting this page and any thoughts and donations would be very welcome
Dan and Andy
Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.
It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you. For every £1 you donate, the hospice will spend 84p directly on care – and use the remaining 16p to make another £1.
Last year, all those individual donations meant the hospice could be there when it mattered for 3,000 local families.
