Story

This is probably a case of not knowing when to stop but the Marathon clearly wasn't enough pain for me so this weekend I will be doing an Ironman.

If you don't know what that is, it's a very long triathlon. I'll be starting with a 2.4 mile (3.8km) swim, then a 112 mile (189km) bike ride and finishing off with another marathon which is 26 miles (42km). It's going to take me all day. Hopefully around 12 hours.

I was blown away by the support for the marathon and the sponsorship really gave me added motivation to keep me going when my legs just wanted to stop.

I'm going to need that again this Sunday, so I decided to open up the just giving page again to raise money for a brilliant charity called Crossroads which is also where I did my counselling placement. It really gave me a precious insight into the lives of carers and so I want to help more if I can.

Crossroads Care Kent is the leading Carers charity in Kent. We deliver care and support for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health problems.

Our services help carers get the extra support they need to live their own lives. We support Carers in their homes by providing replacement care on a regular basis, at times of special need, such as; a crisis, after a hospital stay, or to enable Carers to attend to their own health needs and treatments.
