Story
Hello my name is Andy Press and up until very recently I was a groundsman at AFC Bournemouth.
I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year and subsequently moved into The Lindsay Bupa Care Home in Poole. Since my diagnosis I have received amazing care and support from The Macmillan Unit, a specialist palliative care unit and hospice at Christchurch Hospital.
My aim is to create a legacy for my life and, in the process, raise as much as I possibly can for Macmillan Caring Locally – the charity which supports and funds The Macmillan Unit.
At 2pm on Sunday 4th June, I am hoping as many people as possible will join me on my ‘Pier to Pier Challenge’ when we will walk from Pier Approach to Boscombe Pier and back again.
Please come along and support me or simply donate here to help raise funds for this invaluable charity. By donating, you will be helping ‘The Mac Unit’ to continue providing support to people with many types of cancers as well as those with MND.
You will also be helping me to celebrate life and live every day to the fullest!
