Story
A team from Allison Homes, Andy Richards, Georgina McCrae and Steve Lapthorne are taking on a gruelling physical challenge, 47 mile ultra-marathon, to help raise critical funds for Diabetes UK.
We have 24 hours to circumnavigate England’s largest and most iconic lake, Windermere. Climbing almost 8500 feet, on completely ungroomed trails in The Lake District https://www.thelap.co.uk/
Diabetes is one of the largest and most urgent health crises in the UK, affecting millions of lives every day. Over 4.6 million adults have a diagnosed condition, with 1.3 million more undiagnosed, and another 6.3 million living with pre-diabetes – meaning roughly one in five adults are living with or at high risk of developing the condition. Within the UK construction sector alone, that means more than 400,000 people are estimated to be living with or at risk of diabetes, many unaware. This highlights a critical need for awareness, education, and support – including shining a light on the financial impact to the sector. By taking on The Lap, Allison Homes has the power not just to raise vital funds, but to shine a spotlight on this hidden crisis, helping colleagues, suppliers, and the wider workforce recognise the risks, break down stigma, and take action to protect their health. We cannot thank you enough for your support.
