Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Two years ago my wife, Rosie, was suffering the after effects of her breast cancer chemo treatment, and could barely get out of bed.
This charity were a huge support to us both, all the info leaflets provided at the hospital were from them and they offer courses, provide forums to meet others affected by the disease and have a helpline to talk to anyone that is struggling or needs advice. It hits you like a sledge hammer and if you are like me the more sound information you have the more manageable it is.
We were fortunate to have a strong family unit, with amazing family and friends who stepped up. However, the charity was incredibly helpful to us and others not so fortunate.
The first photo of Rosie was taken two years ago and the second last October, which reminds us of how far we have come on the roller coaster journey that is breast cancer. We have both emerged with a greater appreciation and lust for life, and I'd like to give something back, hence this challenge.
On 31 May (yes, next week) I will be walking the West Highland Way, which is a route just north of Glasgow to Fort William, it is 97 miles and I plan to do it in 4.5 days, pushing me well out of my comfort zone! (in the words of the Proclaimers...I would walk 100 miles...)
So if you are able, please donate and give some encouragement to keep me going!
One in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their life. Breast Cancer Now funds crucial research to help find ways to prevent, diagnose, treat and help people to live well with the disease. We all rely on the hope that the research brings - hope that there can be a better future for people diagnosed with breast cancer.
