Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our youngest son Jude, age 7, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in November 2023. It has been a rollercoaster ride ever since but the diabetic team at Calderdale have been absolutely fantastic; giving expert advice, care and compassion to Jude and our family.

We attended a fantastic party a few weeks ago for all of the diabetic families in Calderdale that was funded by Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Charity. It was so nice to spend time with other families who have been affected by diabetes and our 3 children had a fantastic time playing games and they all received a lovely gift.

So I wanted to raise some money for a great cause by doing a group walk up to the summit of Helvellyn, via striding edge so that events like this can continue to happen.

This 12.9 KM walk up the third highest mountain in England is going to be a big challenge but there are going to be some brave souls who are willing to give it a go in order to raise lots of money to enable children to have memorable experiences in their lives.

Meet the walking team:

Andy and Vicky, Roo, Ben, Will, Stephen, Lauren, Jack, Jasmine and Josh.

Clifton Rangers: James, Chloe, Chris, Scott, Janine, Jenny, John, Kyle, Leon, Mez, Rachel and Sam.

.

Photos of the walking team will be added to the photo gallery on the top of this just giving page.

Many thanks for your support.

About the charity

We raise funds for all wards and departments at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, enhancing the experience of patients, their families and staff, over and above what NHS funding alone can deliver. Together we can make a real difference to local people when they need it most.
