Story
In memory of my sister, Annie Tang, I will be running the Saucony London 10K while also raising awareness for Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS).
Four years ago, on 31 May 2022, Annie passed away suddenly after being diagnosed with EGFR-positive lung cancer just three weeks earlier. She had been living with APS for over a decade, managing it with strength and resilience. Sadly, APS caused complications during her treatment in the final moments of her life.
APS (Antiphospholipid Syndrome) is a serious autoimmune condition that affects how the blood clots. It causes the immune system to mistakenly produce antibodies that increase the risk of dangerous blood clots in both veins and arteries. Despite its severity, awareness of APS remains low.
I’m running not only in Annie’s memory, but also to help shine a light on this condition and support others living with it.
If you’re able to, please consider donating to APS Support UK—a small but vital charity that provides support, raises awareness, and funds research for those affected by APS.
If donating isn’t possible, your encouragement, support, or simply sharing this message would mean just as much.
Thank you for helping me honour Annie and raise awareness for this important cause 💙
