UPDATE

We did it! I clocked up the miles but you guys pulled out all the stops and smashed the fundraising target. Feels good doesn’t it?!
The ride was great, tough at times - like the unbroken 4km climb after already having 91 miles in my legs - but good company, beautiful scenery and lovely sunshine and your generous support kept my motivation high..
We’ve raised about £2700. That pays for 10% of a youth worker’s salary for a year. Your generosity has enabled more mentoring sessions, more drop in clubs, more combatting food poverty, more mental health support.
If sponsoring me has piqued your interest in UDB why not consider supporting them regularly or even taking on a fundraising challenge yourself?

I am writing to you 4 weeks after breaking my ribs in a bike crash to tell you about the 107 miles I’ll be riding from Cardiff to Tenby on 10th May, and to ask for your financial support.
Here’s why…
I’m inviting you to join me on a journey I embarked on nearly 21 years ago - giving what I can to enable Urban Devotion Birmingham to continue being a transformative force for good in communities across North Birmingham.
I started volunteering for UDB in October 2004 (yep, that’s me with lots of brown hair) and worked for UDB from July 2005 to February 2023. I continue to give financially and cheer from the sidelines as my wife Emma now co-leads with Amy a phenomenal team of people motivated to make a difference.
UDB literally changes lives. Through incredible, grass-roots youth and children’s work, rooted in deep, sincere and generous Christian faith, UDB works with thousands of children, young people and their parents every year.
Whether in schools, drop-in clubs and out and about in the community the UDB team show up day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year.
We see horrific stories in the media on a weekly basis, we’re moved by incredible TV like Adolescence but what if we could actually do something about the problems we see?
Brilliant grass-roots youth and children’s work is more important than ever but also less well-resourced than ever.
Would you support me as I push through the pain barrier over the next few weeks and get up to speed for the CARTEN100 - longest ride I’ve ever ridden - for the best cause I’ve ever been part of?
