GPT100 Ultra Marathon · 6 November 2025

Dr Elizabeth Ferris, established Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club in February 2013, when it became clear that there were few opportunities for active wheelchair users. The structure affords support to players, coaches and volunteers to enable personal growth and development of skills which has led to employment and into further education, as well as contributing towards the reduction in social isolation and increased wellbeing.

Story

Some people buy motorbikes.

Some get hair transplants.

We… signed up for a 100-mile ultra marathon.

This November, we’ll be running, walking, crawling, and probably crying our way through the Grampians National Park in western Victoria, taking on the GPT 100 Stage Race: 160km over four brutal days.

After running a few marathons between us, we thought, “How much harder can it be?”

Turns out the answer is: much, much harder.

Over the past few months, our weekends have been consumed by mountain trails, sweat soaked running vests, sickly-sweet energy gels, and an alarming number of dad jokes. Our social lives have vanished, our knees are negotiating union rights, and our girlfriends have stopped pretending to understand us.

So, if we’re going to suffer this much, we decided we might as well make it count.

We’re turning our questionable life choices into something positive, raising money for The Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club, a charity providing adaptive cycling and indoor sporting opportunities for the Tayside community.

We’ve seen first-hand the incredible impact the Dundee Dragons have on individuals and families, and we’re proud to support their mission to make sport accessible for all.

If you’ve ever questioned our sanity, now’s your chance to support a great cause, and be proven right.

Every dollar helps justify this mid-life crisis and, more importantly, helps the Dundee Dragons continue their fantastic work.
