Andy and Waynes fundraiser for Blind Veterans UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Hi guys and girls.
Yep it's that time if year when Wayne and myself push our old bodies to the limit.
Taking part in my 10th London marathon and Waynes 5th.
Many of our supporters will know that we try a raise a little money to help the charity with the work that it does with veterans like myself.
This year I'm asking for your help once again to help raise much needed funds. Blind veterans UK (formally St Dunstun's) has been supporting blinded veterans since WW1.
A few years ago I mentioned that Blind Veterans was having to close its Brighton residential and rehabilitation centre to modernise its support and reduce exceptional maintenance costs to a grade 2 listed building. This year it looks likely the charity maybe be closing a 2nd centre in Wales. This has massive impacts on restbite holidays for families, rehabilitation and training for new and old members.
If we can't raise funds the charity has the potential to close leaving many blind veterans without support, this is a very unique charity, and a life line to its members and their families.
We're going to do our bit by running 26.2 miles though the streets of London wearing our tops with pride. Can you do your bit and donate a few quid to help provide more than ever much needed funds.
