We support young people who have been forced to flee their home country, because of war, persecution, or trafficking. We provide a safe home, education and therapeutic care that enables them to fulfil their potential and become thriving members of the community.

Story

At midday on the 21st September 2024 I will be setting out to run as far as I can within 24 hours as part of the Equinox24 endurance race. I will be aiming to run a minimum of 100km (62 miles) to raise money for The Baca Charity who work to support child refugees who have been forced to flee their homes.

Baca’s mission is to see a world where all child refugees are welcomed, safe and inspired with hope to rebuild their lives for a better future. Their purpose is to provide a safe place for every child refugee to heal and the freedom to build a better future. They do this through offering safe homes, education, therapeutic care and support in every area of each their lives. I have been a Trustee with the charity for the past 4 years and can vouch for the amazing work that they do in supporting vulnerable yet resilient young people.

In light of the recent wave of racist riots and anti-immigration sentiment, I want to raise money for Baca to send a message that the UK is a place of refuge and welcome to those forced to flee their homes.

If, like me, you felt deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent racist riots taking place in the UK, please consider sponsoring me and chucking Baca a follow/like on the socials 👍
