Angela's 2025 fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support and St Catherine’s Hospice

Jazz concerts for cancer awareness · 3 July 2025
Thanks for supporting my fundraiser. As some of you will know I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in January of this year with seven tumours in my lungs and bones. My goal is to raise 10k in the coming year for Macmillan and St Catherine’s Hospice who supported my mother Dawn in the years before she died of breast cancer in 2017.
Singing jazz, painting and writing have got me through the past few months and the event on the 3rd July at the famous Bulls Head jazz club in Barnes is a celebration of being alive. And to raise awareness and money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The Bulls Head have generously let us use the venue for free now and in the future to support our fundraising.
The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, and every one of them needs the best support to meet their unique needs.
Macmillan have been the most amazing support since the moment of diagnosis from explaining next steps and offering their Navigator service all day every day if you have questions, to providing free counselling. I am going to be working with them as a Lived Experience Storyteller in the coming months. They are active in lobbying health equality, in innovation researching personalised cancer care and support and so much more.
Macmillan do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for everyone who will be diagnosed in the future.
