I will be running the London Marathon in aid of The Children's Hospital Charity.

They support thousands of patients and families from across the UK and beyond, by funding ground-breaking and life-changing research, specialist medical equipment and new facilities as well as creating engaging environments, all with children in mind. They make clinical care kinder, and bad days brighter, bringing play, laughter, support and comfort to places where they are needed the most.

My family have personally benefited from their care as Sheffield Children's Hospital have supported my granddaughter, and her Mummy and Daddy since her birth 6 months ago.

Training for this marathon has been challenging - with a twisted back in January and several chest infections delaying training - but I am determined to complete it. This will be my first marathon (and probably last) as an OVER 60!!
