Story
Thank you for visiting my Christmas Jumper Day fundraising page in support of the UK Sepsis Trust!
In 2012 my elderly mother was admitted to hospital with sepsis as the result of an asymptomatic undiagnosed UTI. What followed was months spent in a critical care unit, hospital ward and rehabilitation unit to get her back onto her feet again. It was touch and go, at one point she was given the last rites. Luckily she recovered but the impact was severe. Her mobility was affected, resulting in her becoming virtually housebound and only able to go out in a wheelchair, accompanied by me.
I knew nothing about sepsis, but I do now thanks to her experience, and the work of the UK Sepsis Trust and its supporters to spread the word.
By donating to my page, you'll be contributing to UKST's vital mission to save lives from sepsis by raising public awareness, educating healthcare professionals, and offering free support to those who have been affected by this devastating condition.
