Story
The NSPCC is there for children when they feel alone, scared, or without hope. I want to do my part to make sure no child is left to suffer in silence.
I have worked in education for over 35 years as a teacher and senior leader. For the past 26 years, I have had the privilege of working in one primary school, with 24 of those as headteacher. Over that time, I’ve seen first-hand how much children can achieve when they are given love, support, and the chance to thrive.
But I also know that sadly, not every child grows up with that same safety and encouragement. That’s why I’ve chosen to take on 26.2 miles on the 26th April 2026 in the London Marathon for the NSPCC- one mile for every year I've been at Denfield.
The NSPCC works tirelessly to protect children and give them the future they deserve. By supporting me, you’ll be helping to ensure that no child is left to face abuse, neglect, or hardship
Running the London Marathon will be a huge physical challenge for me - but with your encouragement, I’m determined to cross that finish line.
On Marathon Day, when the miles get tough and the finish line feels far away, I’ll be thinking of the children who need that extra strength, that extra voice, that extra bit of care. They are my inspiration.
With your support, together we can give every child the safe, happy, and hopeful childhood they deserve.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart
