Story
I'm taking part in Dove House Hospice's It's a Knockout in loving memory of my wonderful dad, Allan.
Caring for Dad was one of the greatest honours of my life. Being able to look after him for as long as I could is something I will always treasure. When the time came that he needed more care than I could give, Dove House welcomed him with such compassion and dignity. They didn't just care for Dad, they cared for me too, allowing me to stop being his carer and simply be his daughter during those precious final days. That gift is something I will be forever grateful for.
Dad was one of a kind. He loved blasting Bruce Springsteen, watching Liverpool, telling his legendary dad jokes (whether we wanted to hear them or not!), and, most of all, spending time with the people he loved. He had a way of making everyone smile and leaving every room a little happier than he found it.
Dove House gave our family comfort, compassion and precious time together during the hardest days of our lives. Knowing they rely so heavily on charitable donations makes me even more determined to give something back.
Taking part in It's a Knockout on what would have been Dad's birthday weekend feels like the perfect way to celebrate his life, honour his memory, and help ensure other families receive the same incredible care that we did.
If you're able to support me with a donation, no matter how big or small, I would be truly grateful.
In true Liverpool FC style... You'll Never Walk Alone. ❤️
