Angela Young is raising money for Talbot Association Ltd

AJ Bell Great Scottish Run 2026 · 4 October 2026 ·

Since 1970, the Talbot Association has stood alongside Glasgow’s most vulnerable individuals those facing the complex realities of homelessness, addiction, mental ill-health, social isolation, and long-term instability. As part of Scotland’s evolving landscape of social care, we are committed to delivering person-centred, trauma-informed, and rights-based support that respects the dignity, voice, and choices of everyone we walk with. We aim to create safe, respectful spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued. Our support is grounded in compassion, flexibility, and non-judgement, helping individuals reclaim stability, self-worth, and a sense of belonging within a community of their choice. “We imagine a circle of compassion, and then imagine no one standing outside of it.” Gregory Boyle This vision of only kinship calls us to draw closer to the margins to stand with those who have been left out, forgotten, or written off. In doing so, we dismantle the barriers that divide us and build a community rooted in shared humanity. For over five decades, Talbot has grown, evolved, and deepened its mission but our core values have remained unchanged. We believe in the inherent worth of every person, and we strive daily to offer not just services, but solidarity. A place where compassion leads, and no one is left behind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising funds for the Talbot Association, which provides vital support to 198 people experiencing homelessness across six projects in Glasgow.

For the people we support at the Talbot Association, having somewhere safe to stay is only part of the picture. Every person in our care is also provided with three meals a day. These meals are not funded through the organisation’s regular funding or grants and rely on fundraising and the generosity of people like you.

The money raised will help the our association continue providing nutritious meals as well as activities that encourage social inclusion, connection and positive mental health. These simple but important things can make a real difference to someone going through an incredibly difficult time.

Every little really does help. You do not need to make a large donation to make a difference, even £1 can go a long way when we all come together. Every pound donated contributes towards providing food, support and opportunities for people who need them.

Whether you can give £1, £5, £10 or more, your support will be genuinely appreciated. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page can help too.

Together, lots of small acts of kindness can add up to something very meaningful.

Thank you for your support. ❤️
