Angelina's fundraiser for ME Research UK

Angelina Rizza is raising money for ME Research UK
Celebrating the birthday of Rita Greenway

on 31 October 2025

ME Research UK exists solely to fund high quality biomedical studies into ME/CFS. Our funded research suggests that in excess of 400,000 people in the UK have ME/CFS but it is neither well understood nor, in many cases, properly recognised. We invest in the best research we can globally.

Story

Hi All,

Happy 60th Birthday Rita...

The only gifts she would like is for us to contribute to the effort of this charity to fund medical research into ME - so here you go if you would like to .x

No words needed for those close to her who understand the impact of very severe ME on her and her familys life.

This lady - Jennifer Brea started this foundation

"....doctors do not treat us and science does not study us. How could a disease this common and this devastating have been forgotten by medicine?" Jennifer Brea

Only biomedical research can find the causes of ME/CFS, improve diagnosis and treatment, and, ultimately, arrive at a cure. That’s why research is our focus.

We've awarded 64 full grants and 5 PhD-level awards since 2000 and invested over £3.5million. But research is expensive and becoming more so every day. That’s the challenge we face, and that’s why we need your help."

Even the amount of a coffee can make a difference... thank you - and happy birthday to the most amazing woman we know. She hopes to be able to be well enough to spend a short time with Ian, her boys, Harry and Leo , her Mum Daphne and myself. We hope she can make it downstairs ( she has only made it once this year) but just to be able to have more than 1 person in the room will be an achievement. She won't celebrate her 60th like most of us can and will - but you can be sure that she will find joy despite the confines of ME, with our love always.
