Now... onto the reason why we are fundraising.
We both have a personal connection with Angels 4 Dogs Rescue and want to help create a lasting impact for some of the dogs that unfortunately are not treated in the way they should be. A certain story in particular which I would encourage you to read because as much as it is heartbreaking it also shows that there are happy endings for these dogs coming through the rescue. Below is a snippet of Mr Tom's story.
A Gentle Soul, a Second Chance: Mr Tom's Story
Mr Tom, a senior Lurcher thought to be around 13 years old, was found abandoned in a freezing pond — cold, alone, and in desperate need of help. Thankfully, the dedicated team at Angels 4 Dogs stepped in and gave him the second chance he deserved.
Now safe in a loving foster home, Mr Tom is enjoying every moment of his golden years. Although he's sadly been diagnosed with cancer, he’s on medication to manage the condition and keep him as comfortable as possible.
His foster family is making sure each day counts — recently celebrating his birthday with a special party full of cuddles, treats, and love. Despite everything he’s been through, Mr Tom remains gentle, calm, and full of heart. He still enjoys short walks, especially when he hears the jingle of his lead — his tail wags, he does a little happy dance, and then it’s back to his favourite spot on the sofa.
While his time may be limited, Mr Tom is now surrounded by kindness and care. Donations help cover his ongoing medication and ensure he continues to live out his days in comfort and peace.
Thank you for supporting Mr Tom and the incredible work of Angels 4 Dogs.
There are many others with stories like Mr Tom and they need our help alongside the incredible work that Angels 4 Dogs provide to save there lives and give them the best home they deserve.
Information from Angels 4 Dogs website on what they do and how your donation will help:
At Angels 4 Dogs Rescue, our rescue's capacity to make a difference is limited by our current facilities. Our vision is to establish a sanctuary of love and compassion, a place where the paws of hope never fade. We envision a future where we have our own kennels base; purpose-built havens that embody our unwavering commitment to the welfare of every dog in need.
In these kennels, we see a space that goes beyond shelter—a place where rescued dogs find not only safety but also the warmth of a loving home. Our vision includes kennels that provide comfort, security, and personalized care for each unique individual we rescue.
Our kennels would provide:
Capacity to Save More Lives: With increased kennel space, we can rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome more dogs than ever before. This property will become a sanctuary for those who have been abandoned, neglected, or forgotten.
Better Living Conditions: The new kennels would be designed to provide a safer and more comfortable environment for our dogs. Improved facilities means healthier, happier dogs.
Community Impact: Our expanded capabilities will allow us to work more closely with our community, offering educational programs, outreach, and services that promote responsible pet ownership and the welfare of all dogs.
We dream of a facility that serves as a beacon of hope, not just for dogs, but for our community as a whole. A place where the bond between humans and dogs is celebrated, where education about responsible pet ownership thrives, and where compassion knows no bounds.
Our kennels will stand as a testament to our dedication, a place where every dog's journey from abandonment to adoption is supported and cherished. We envision a future where these kennels become a hub of transformation, where dogs' lives are not just saved but transformed, and where the legacy of love lives on in the wagging tails of those we rescue.
However, we cannot seize this opportunity without your support. We are in desperate need of funds to secure a property and make it a reality. Your donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to providing a permanent home for our rescue dogs. Your generosity will not only change the lives of dogs but also make a lasting impact on our community.
We are deeply grateful for your compassion and unwavering support. Together, we can build a new home for our rescue dogs—a place of hope, healing, and happiness. Thank you for being a vital part of this mission.
As we work tirelessly to make this vision a reality, we invite you to join us on this remarkable journey. With your support, we will create a brighter, more compassionate world for dogs in need.
How your donation can help:
Your donations are so important to the day to day running of the charity. They're used across a wide variety of areas, each one important in their own separate ways. Without your continued support, we wouldn't be able to provide the proper care each dog requires, so we thank you so much (and they do too!).
How your donations could help:
£5 could pay for a microchip to help our dogs return to their owners if they ever go off on their own adventures!
£15 could pay for a day in kennels for one dog, this also covers their food and treats during their stay
£25 could pay for a month of food for a dog in foster care waiting for their forever home.
