Angel’s Legacy of Love 🐾❤️‍🩹

Erin Kerrigan is raising money for Rainbow Rehoming Centre
In memory of Angel AKA Coconut
We were founded in 1997 to help stray, abandoned and unwanted cats and dogs find forever homes. At our centre we look after approx.15 dogs and 40 cats as well as working alongside foster families. We are a registered charity who receive no council or government funding and rely solely on donations.

Story

In Memory of Angel (Coconut) 🤍🐾

Fighting the stigma. Spreading the love. Giving back to Rainbow Rehoming Centre.

In 2015, a tiny, emaciated Staffy called Coconut was rescued from the local council pound by Rainbow Rehoming Centre along with her three 6-week-old puppies. She was painfully thin but incredibly gentle - a devoted mother with the sweetest nature.

Rainbow placed her in foster care and gave her the second chance she so desperately needed. In 2018, we saw her appeal on Rainbow’s page. Now called Angel, she had heartbreakingly been returned due to allergies in her adoptive home. She was described as a “Little Miss Smiley”, an absolute sweetheart who adored attention, loved other dogs and children, and just wanted a place to belong.

That August, we brought her home. And from that moment on, she was our world. Angel wasn’t “just a dog.” She was there for every milestone - buying our first home, our wedding day and welcoming our first baby. She was our constant. Our comfort. Our shadow. She was the most incredible ambassador for the Staffy breed - gentle, loyal, affectionate, patient and endlessly loving. She changed hearts and challenged stereotypes everywhere she went.

On 24th February 2026, after months of health struggles, we had to make the most heartbreaking decision of our lives and say goodbye to our beautiful girl. Now our house is painfully quiet. There is no gentle snoring at night. No paws following us from room to room. Our child looks for her. Her doggy sister sits at the window, waiting. And sometimes, without even realising, we find ourselves doing the same. Watching the door, half expecting Angel to come home. The silence is deafening. The emptiness in our hearts feels overwhelming.

But how lucky we are to hurt this much. Because it means we were blessed enough to experience a love that deep, with a rescue dog who once had nothing. A once-in-a-lifetime soul dog. And we would choose her, and that love, all over again. Even knowing the heartbreak.

But we want her story to continue.

Rainbow Rehoming Centre didn’t just rescue Angel, they loved her. They checked in on her over the years. Their care didn’t stop the day she left their centre. That kind of dedication is rare. It is real, selfless charity work. So in Angel’s memory, we are fundraising for Rainbow Rehoming Centre to help towards their veterinary bills so that more dogs like our girl can be rescued, treated, loved and given the second chance she was given.

Angel fought the stigma around Staffies every single day just by being herself. Her legacy will be proof of how deeply she was loved and how much good one rescue dog can bring into the world. If Angel ever made you smile, if you’ve ever loved a rescue dog, or if you simply believe every dog deserves a chance, we would be so grateful for your support.

Let her legacy be love. 🤍🐾

Thank you for helping us turn heartbreak into hope.
