Story
A passionate group of IJM supporters will take on the challenge of a lifetime in October 2025: an arduous six-day climb of the world's highest free-standing mountain Mount Kilimanjaro, to support the work of International Justice Mission!
Our champions will trek through tropical rainforest, alpine landscape and lunar desert before reaching the stunning glacier at the mountain's summit for sunrise on Anti-Slavery Day. The group will also spend dedicated time in Kenya with IJM's team that works to combat the police abuse of power and the commercial sexual exploitation of children, and be inspired by the hope of the movement to stop violent injustice and slavery around the world.
50 million children, women and men are held in slavery today. Your support now will help IJM continue the crucial work to stop slavery and violent oppression for good.
International Justice Mission is a global organisation working to stop slavery and violence. IJM works with local authorities and partners to:
> Bring people to safety
> Support survivors with trauma-informed care
> Hold perpetrators to account
> Strengthen justice systems so that people are protected in the first place
IJM has worked with authorities and partners to bring over 98,000 people to safety, and seen slavery and violence decrease by 50-86% in nine places around the world. They won't stop until all are free.

Climb for Freedom 2025 is hosted by IJM UK in partnership with RightFoot Adventures.
Personally, I am profoundly honoured and humbled to be embarking on this Climb for Freedom challenge. Mark (my marvellous husband) and I have joyfully supported IJM financially and prayerfully for over a decade.
I dreamed of having a MASSIVE Jubilee Fund Raising Party to celebrate turning 50. The plan was to ask friends and family to donate to IJM and the amazing work they do, instead of giving me presents….. The choice between ‘more stuff’ or ‘people’s freedom’ had an obvious winner!! However I turned 50 in 2021 and Lockdown prevented this dream from becoming a reality.
Fast forward to January 2025 and an email pops into my overcrowded inbox ‘Climb for Freedom’ - fundraise for IJM, climb Kilimanjaro: ‘The trek will lead you through tropical rainforest, alpine landscape, lunar desert and finally reach the stunning glacier at the mountain’s summit, Uhuru (meaning ‘Freedom’) Peak, at sunrise on Anti-Slavery Day, 18th October 2025.’
I can honestly say I’ve NEVER before had any notion of climbing ‘Kili,’ but as I read the email my spirit was captivated and I said to myself, ‘I’d LOOOOVE to do that!’ To my total and utter amazement I sensed God interrupt my internal conversation with an exuberant, ‘and YOU CAN!’
Sooooo 4 years later than I first dreamed, I am raising funds and awareness for the incredible work of IJM, not by having a big birthday party but by climbing a big mountain. I believe God is going to bring me into greater personal fitness and freedom as I simultaneously seek to advocate for justice and the freedom of others.
I boldly invite you to be part of the ‘dream team’ by generously giving and/or passionately praying so the world changing work of IJM can continue to expand. May you too be blessed and step into greater freedom.
Much love and deep gratitude,
Angie.
